On May 27, 2011 a seminar entitled 'Il trattamento informatico delle fonti finalizzato a edizioni critiche di testi filosofici' was held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Pisa. On that occasion, the scope and objectives of the ERC project Ideas, Advanced Grant 249231 "Greek into Arabic. Philosophical Concepts and Linguistic Bridgeswere presented to doctoral students by the project Coordinator, Dr. Cristina D’Ancona. The Co-coordinator, Dr. Andrea Bozzi, director of the CNR Institute for Computational Linguistics (ILC), stressed the tremendous potential of Digital Humanities that enables to conduct more stimulating and efficient research by conjugating advanced information technologies and humanistic inquiry. Finally, the ILC research team members illustrated three aspects related to their ongoing work: i) Pinakes Text, an open source application to process, annotate, investigate and analyze digital documents, ii) the linguistic annotation system specifically developed for Arabic texts and iii) the semantic structuring and meaning representation of the terminology of the pseudo-Theology of Aristotle.
