After her degree in Historical Linguistics (title of the dissertation: “Il duale in baltico, con confronti indoeuropei) at the University of Pisa, Silvia Piccini took her PhD on Aktionsart in Baltic languages. She started her collaboration with the ILC in 2011, where she was involved in the elaboration of a Computational Lexicon on Saussure's terminology. Since 2014 is research fellow at the ILC/CNR, Area della ricerca di Pisa.

Her main research interests are the Historical Linguistics (mainly Greek, Latin and Baltic Languages) and Computational Linguistics (Computational Lexicology and Lexicography, Computational Lexical Semantics, Ontologies).
